Brewing tea with a coffee pot

I have been too lazy to put in the effort to brew tea very much anymore, and have been deveoping a taste for coffee. Recently I decided to put tea in my coffee maker, which turned out to be a bad idea. One the water in coffee makers filters through too fast to really brew the tea. I solved this being wasteful and putting in a lot of loose leaves. The other was the residual coffee in a parts of the coffee pot. That made the tea taste like ass.
